As
is known to all, Biker For Christ Motorcycle Ministry is founded in Marysville
in 1990, by pastor Fred who is from California. Since then, the Christian biker
clubs have been formed gradually.
Black
leather, tattoos and jeans, which are the special costume while Christian
bikers participating the worship. There is a church in Virginia that is
decorated by a group of Christian bikers, furthermore, it was a bar before. Last
Sunday, there were 55 Christian bikers in the first worship.
Seven
Cities Freedom Biker Church that is located in Chesapeake Virginia, as well as
a home to a group of bikers, they love both motorcycle and Jesus. They call the
Bible as “the user manual of their lives”, and they ride on the road for the sake
of Christ. This church was called Blakely’s Nightclub bar before, and the same
life as so many motorcyclists, this bar has been changed.
One
day, a senior pastor, as well as a motorcycle rider says,” it is so cool of
this new address of the church. Motorcycle bikers are known to others for their
negative things, while we take advantage of this place where used to be a bad
site to do good things. It is because that we put the God in our heart.”
This
church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist congregation, the number of
members is not much, but is in the growing. “It is surprised that there are
some men who visited the bar before the church, it is interesting to see them
back to help us to clean up and paint, and it also reflects the changes in
their lives,” the senior pastor says, “ on the first Thursday of every month,
this church will organize nearby motorcycle riders to get together and make hot
dogs for them, which is a way of preaching. At the same time, we will go out
with motorcycle riders to ride motorbikes in the riding season, since we are
trying to be a beam of light in the dark.”
Why
does this church is named “seven cities”? The biggest reason is to preaching. “Seven
cities” represents the 7 cities around the church, and the builders who are Christian
bikes hope all the inhabitants of these cities could become the congregation. What’s
more, they hope they can spread the gospel to all places, not just in the 7
cities.
This
church claims to welcome anyone, regardless of whether you are a motorcycle
rider. So many people often ask a question that is whether visitors or members
have to ride a motorcycle, and the answer is,” of course not! No matter whether
you ever rode a motorcycle, we still welcome you to join. As long as you know
spreading the gospel is our lifelong mission. We have a real relationship with
Jesus Christ, and we have a passion for the road.”
The
church congregations said that they are a group of Christian motorcycle riders with the “real” freedom information of Jesus Christ to go to the world. And
their motto is freedom.
And now, there are 13 driver church belonging to the Southern Baptist
Church. The Church of the new site can accommodate 600 people, and they plan to
invite some Christian motorcycle riders to the area to hold a complete
launching ceremony.
